That’s why cultivating, nurturing and building relationships is absolutely critical to your financial success.

And possibly the single most powerful way to do that is by doing what NO ONE else does anymore…

SEND HAND-WRITTEN THANK YOU CARDS!!!

There are all kinds of reasons for you to send thank you cards frequently and consistently.

And the most influential words in relationship-building are “THANK YOU!”

You can’t show your appreciation too often.  It’s impossible.

Let me tell you a quick story about the power of saying “thank you.”

When I first started Fitness Marketing Systems and began selling my marketing strategies to Fitness Professionals, I was averaging about a 4% return rate – 4% of those who purchased would return the product for a refund.

That’s not only acceptable, it’s exceptional in the information marketing category.

But nonetheless, it’s hard not to take rejection personally – even when it’s a very small percentage of the number of people I serve.  So I tested various methods of bringing my returns down even more…

AND I HIT THE JACKPOT!

In the last two and half years I’ve gotten less than a 1% of my products returned -- which is practically unheard of.

What did I do differently?

I included a rather lengthy and effusive THANK YOU LETTER with each kit I shipped out.

I simply thanked my customers for trusting in me and promised to do everything in my power to help them succeed.

And I meant it.  They could tell.

That’s it.

The point is that people do business with people – not with “companies” or “images”.

The more personalized you can make the relationship – the more you go the extra mile to WOW your prospects and clients with your empathy, understanding, ability, thoughtfulness and caring – the deeper the bond will be, and the more you will get in return.

Reciprocity is a human phenomenon.  It’s practically innate.  People naturally want to give back to those who give to them.

So give of yourself in a very simple, quick and easy way that has incredibly high perceived value:

HAND WRITE PERSONAL THANK YOU CARDS.

In fact, take it to the next level by hand writing thank you’s, birthday, Christmas/Hannukah, etc. cards.

Go the extra mile with personalized contact, and it will pay off in spades for you.

But be consistent.  Set up a “system” for this – just as you would for any marketing strategy.

I recommend making it a point to hand write at least two cards every day, Monday through Friday.  That’s ten a week or 520 a year.  That’s a lot of contacts – AND IT WILL BUILD YOUR BUSINESS!

I’ll put my money where my mouth is on this one by making you a great offer:

Commit to sending out 10 thank you cards a week for three months – that’s 160 cards – which will cost you about $100.

After three months, if you haven’t received at least 2 referred clients that you can directly attribute to your thank you card program, I will give you a $100 Gift Certificate towards the purchase of anything I offer.

You don’t have to prove anything to me.  I’ll take you at your word.  But, frankly, I’m not the least bit concerned that I’ll have to give out even one of these $100 Gift Certificates…

BECAUSE I’M TOTALLY CONVINCED OF THE POWER OF SAYING “THANK YOU!”

“You create your life.  You are where you are today because you have created your life based on your (conscious or unconscious) intention.  If you want something different – get intentional about it and create it!”
